TOUR_LIS is a multimedia city guide for Bolzano in Italian Sign Language (LIS). The tool has been developed in a video format compatible with iPhones or other smart phones, in order to be consulted while sightseeing.

TOUR_LIS is the first comprehensive city guide in Italy and in Europe which has been developed especially for the needs of deaf tourists. Up to now videos for the deaf about only one single monument at a time have been published (i.e. the royal palace in Caserta, the British Museum).

On the homepage, the user finds a map where the 30 most important sights of Bolzano are indicated. By clicking on one of the sights, a video in full screen format appears and an interpreter describes the characteristics of the monument/place. The corresponding Italian text and some images are also given.

Users who do not have mobile Internet access can connect in Wi-Fi mode to the free public  LUNAS wireless network in Bolzano.
