Services

The Institute for Renewable Energy offers a series of scientific services to industry and public partners.

In the field of product and system development the institute is focused on solar energy, heat pump and building components. Through dedicated laboratories the institute can offer test services for thermally and electrical driven heat pumps, solar photovoltaic modules and the measurement of thermal properties of passive and solar active building components. In order to enhance the product development process and virtually integrate the component in an overall system extensive dynamic simulations are carried out.

In the field of quality assurance and measurements the institute is offering services in the design as well as in the commissioning phase. This services can be in the field of dynamic simulations of energy systems and technical due diligences. The institute is as well involved in a series of monitoring projects measuring the performance of innovative energy systems, low energy buildings and energetically refurbished historical buildings.

As for the realization of Net Zero Energy Buildings many aspects including passive and active energy systems have to be considered, the institute is supporting the planning of such buildings through simulations  and integrated design processes.

Especially for public partners Eurac is offering support in the elaboration of Strategic Energy Action Plans for cities and regions, CO2 emission reduction plans and strategic development plans for the integration of solar energy or further sustainable energy measures in city quarters and industry areas.
