This is a case report of a heavy rockfall in the Dolomites with massive dust exposure of the rescue personnel. It is the aim of this study to a) describe the characteristics of this exceptional rescue operation with their inherent risks, 2) document symptoms and signs of all exposed persons after dust exposure and 3) follow up spirometric function two years after.
